The least talked about topic for optimum health is Basic Nutrition. Today most people do not receive the benefits of good nutrition; this phenomenon affects all of us, whether rich or poor. We must turn back the clock to properly understand the basics of good nutrition and ultimate wellness.

 

Over 2,500 years ago lived a man named Hippocrates, today he is considered the Father of Medicine. His basic philosophy in humankind's aliments was balance. Thus led him to make this most quote:

 

"Everyone has a doctor in him or her; we just have to help it in its work. The natural healing force within each one of us is the greatest force in getting well. Our food should be our medicine. Our medicine should be our food. But to eat when you are sick, is to feed your sickness."

 

Natural Guardian Internationals mission is good health starts with proper nutrition, however today we live in a very fast lifestyle, fast food is the norm and caloric intake is at and all time high. Water is  involved in every function of the body. It's in every cell, tissue and organ of the body.

n      Dietary Fat  
Most of the fat that you eat should come from unsaturated sources: polyunsaturated fats and monounsaturated fats. In general, nuts, vegetable oils, and fish are sources of unsaturated fats.

n      Carbohydrates
Your body uses carbohydrates (carbs) to make glucose which is the fuel that gives you energy and helps keep everything going.

n       Protein
Proteins are part of every cell, tissue, and organ in our bodies. These body proteins are constantly being broken down and replaced. The protein in the foods we eat is digested into amino acids that are later used to replace these proteins in our bodies.

n      Vitamins and Minerals
Vitamins are organic substances (made by plants or animals), minerals are inorganic elements that come from the earth; soil and water and are absorbed by plants. Animals and humans absorb minerals from the plants they eat. Vitamins and minerals are nutrients that your body needs to grow and develop normally.
